Our story

How focusing on the customer changed everything

Pluga was born out of a real lesson about what companies actually need. It all started in 2012, when our founders met at the 21212 startup accelerator in Rio de Janeiro.

We first founded Smartcoin S.A., a payments startup. But after almost 2 years and a lot of market research, we realised the biggest challenge companies faced was not the payment itself, but running the business.

We found that small and medium companies were losing valuable hours copying and pasting information from one system into another, simply because their software did not talk to each other.

The result? Inefficiency and human error. To cure that pain we pivoted our strategy and, in 2015, Pluga was officially born.

We are an ecosystem that connects more than 131 of the biggest software products in Brazil and around the world, such as RD Station, Notion, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Asaas and Conta Azul.

In 2026 we raised the bar again when we shipped AI Agents. That milestone marked Pluga’s move to a platform with far more robust capabilities, able to serve everyone from the user who only wants basic automations to the ones building highly complex flows with AI Agents inside them.
